Week 1

Website 1: http://www.360langstrasse.sf.tv/page/

This website is beautifully designed and gives viewers an insight into what virtual tourism may look like in the future. It has a very unique edge compared to others because when scrolling up n down to look at previous posts you are also driving down the largest city of switzerland - Zurich. The website i s mainly aimed at artists and designers ranging from tattooists and fabric designers down to the demographic however the purpose of this site is for small businesses to advertise. On this site you can also view a tattoo studio in a similar virtual tour. I have seen this idea of a virtual tour tried out before on other websites but this site is miles ahead simply because of the high quality graphics and the layout of the page. This site would appeal to small businesses because it give them an alternative and individualistic way to advertised compared to the original ways in which their rivals may be using.

Website 2: http://www.leoneck.ch/en/

On the other hand we have this website which is one of the worst designed websites possible. First of all the site  is meant to advertise a hotel in Zurich, this means its target audience is surely 18+ however the design and the usage of filters on photoshop help it to completely ignore the demographic. The site belongs on a childrens gaming website aimed at children aged 3 and over, my reasons behind this begin with the mouse. The icon for the mouse is changed to a cartoon picture of a cows head. There is a complete lack of understanding to its target audience. Beyond the home page, other links also use this cartoon effect. When showing viewers the facilities and restaurant areas for guests to use it is not clear enough and can only be a hinderance in generating sales. The hotel may be nice but the vibe that the design of the website gives would surely put customers off from making reservations. This is an example of how important a design of a website can be for a business.

Website 3 - Everyday website i personally use - www.bbc.co.uk/sport

This is a website I visit nearly everyday, the design is basic and simple and target audience is mainly aimed towards men and people interested in sport. The reason this layout succeeds is because of the chronological order of the news stories and also the navigation system is one of the most common and basic ones. The design and layout of this site is almost traditional and hasn't changed for a long time. This design also helps to be reliable to visitors and they feel as though they can trust this site compared to its other rivals.
